Why "The Blue Chair Band"? From the 1980's on through to the 2000's, Bob and Rick would occasionally get together to play Celtic folk music. In 2007, they decided to get serious about it and form "The Blue Chair Band", mixing their talents and styles to create a unique and innovative sound. As luck would have it, they could only play one instrument at a time (mostly), so they would talk about the guest artist that they would have perform with them on certain songs. In their practice room sat a blue chair, always empty. They would frequently point to the chair and refer to the person that would be sitting there for that particular song and what they would play. Thus, The Blue Chair Band was born.
